Safe Place International's primary mission is to support the dignity and self actualization of the most marginalized members of the global refugee community. We seek to significantly improve the opportunities, individual and collective life experiences of these community members
Countless refugees are left without food, shelter, safety, or any kind of guidance for their futures. The most venerable among them-the LGBTQIA+ community and single, parent women-are widely ignored, and face added strife and danger. Safe Place international was created in response to their unmet needs.
Safe Place International aims to achieve its mission through two main avenues: direct aid initiatives and advocacy work. We strongly believe in a work model that promotes autonomy for our partners and our community members while aggregating our resources to maximize our impact.
DIRECT AID INITIATIVES
SPI supports grassroots organizations that directly serve doubly marginalized refugees around the world by providing funding, training and operational support.
SPI is actively involved in advocacy work that aims to change institutional practices and governmental policies related to the asylum process for doubly marginalized refugees.
